Bonaire island (the right place for the amazing vacation)
Bon Bini on Bonaire!
If you want to practice a lot of diffrent sports from scuba diving to windsurfing or just relaxing at the beaches, you`ve just found the right place for the amazing vacation.
One of the most extra ordinary thing to do in Bonaire is to see the wildlife. Iguanas meditatively toast themselves atop the desert rock formations of Washington Slagbaai, while vast orange-pink clouds of flamingoes drift across bone-white salt flats. There are only four places in the world where flamingo colonies breed-Bonaire is one of them. In fact, more flamingoes live on the island than humans. This chariness seems to be unnatural: if nature ever dressed a diva, the flamingo is it. The pink cotton candy feathers, the graceful, wavy neck, and the long sinewy legs all seems to cry “look at beautiful me“.In fact, the birds are so sensitive to noise and intrusion that the slightest disturbance will cause them to quickly flee. They will never come close to people, and on Bonaire, you must go to them. There are two places to see Bonaire’s flamingoes. One is at the Pekelmeer Sanctuary to the south, where the birds flock around the salt ponds; the other at Lake Gotomeer, in Washington Slagbaai National Park in the north.

Vieques Beaches, Puerto Rico (one of the most scenic, quiet, and secluded beaches)
Content provided by Luisa Cupeles from Vieques Travel Guide.comIn Vieques you will find some of the most scenic, quiet, and secluded beaches on the Caribbean. Puerto Rico has been a very popular destination on the Caribbean for it’s hundreds of beaches among the immense variety of attractions for travelers. The beaches in Vieques (an off-shore island just a short 20 minute flight or a ferry ride away from the main island) stands out for it’s unspoiled and tranquil environment that makes you want to lay on the sand and let your mind free to dream.
Vieques Beaches includes:
Blue Beach / Bahia de la Chiva
Secluded beach perfect for those seeking for a feeling of peache and solitude. What you will find in this beach; beauty, perfectly blue beauty. As soon as you step foot on Blue beach, it will make sense why they named it blue beach. The waters have perfectly coordinating shades of blue with clear waters and soft crisp white waves. Blue beach is like a gigantic artistic masterpiece.
Black Sand Beach – Playa Negrita
Even some locals do not know that there is black sand in Vieques. When I found out, as soon as I went to Vieques I began my search for this island treasure. Truly worth the visit, great beach for a romantic walk and for those with the desire to hunt for treasures like the Pirates of the Caribbean.
Cofi Beach / Playa Cofi
Yet another beautiful beach in Vieques and very different from the rest on the island. Bold colors of blue, reddish-brown rocks and bubbly white foam from the waves. Great views of colorful Isabel Segunda from a distance.
Esperanza Beach / Playa Esperanza
Esperanza Beach, fun beautiful beach with crystal clear waters perfect for snorkeling. Take a walk along the Strip, watch the sunset shining on colorful fisherman’s boat on the blue waters of Esperanza. During the day you will enjoy laying on the sand, getting that perfect tan and watching the fisherman come back with their catch of the day. The translation for Esperanza is “Hope”. So when you come to Esperanza take some time to look out on the waters, think of dreams and hope, they may just come true while in Vieques.
Green Beach
Green beach is located on the northern side of Vieques Island. A great name of this beach with lots of green flora along the coast just naturally growing wild and free. Popular for snorkeling and family friendly waters. On this beach you can appreciate the magnificent wildlife of this island. There were pelicans just â€chilling†on rocks above the water. The drive there was very spectacular, you have to pass the Kiani Lagoon, (mangroves), and the flora around you is lush and very green. I highly recommend a jeep to get there.
Mosquito Pier
The Mosquito Pier is a popular spot for divers and it is located on the north east side of Vieques Island. I found a couple of locals fishing with their kids, and they told me that fishing at night is great. The future plan is to create a “short route†to the town of Ceiba, Puerto Rico. The view from the pier is stunning. You can see the beautiful coast and really appreciate just how marvelous the vegetation in this island really is, the view is simply breathtaking. Get ready to take great pictures along the pier, great site to watch birds, I found many pelicans and birds along the coast. There are great beaches along the area that are great for bathing.
Playa Grande
Playa Grande is probably the most unique beach on the island located on the south east end of Vieques. The scenery is quite stunning, great big rocks along the coast, perfect to sit down and enjoy the view holding hands with your loved one. This beach is not to be missed, (but then, they all are).
Red Beach / Bahia Corcho – Playa Caracas
This Beach is becoming one of the favorites among the locals and travelers. Red Beach / Playa Caracas is located on the southern side of Vieques. Stunning view of mountains around you, rocks at the far left end, and lots of soft sand to lounge and get the perfect tan. Pretty shades of blue water, and getting there was half the fun (if you like dirt roads). US Fish and Wildlife Services built several gazebos along the beach, so it is very family friendly.
Sun Bay Beach / Balneario Sun Bay
Sun Bay Beach, top favorite among the locals and travelers. It has family friendly facilities such as picnic tables, restrooms, and a camp ground. It is also one of the most beautiful beaches in Vieques (this is a tricky statement, since they all are). Sun Bay Beach is a picture perfect beach.
If you want to get there you must fly into Puerto Rico before catching a 20-minute flight to Vieques Island. These flights are available from San Juan International Airport and Isla Grande Airport in San Juan. Travelers can book a charter flight on Cape Air (www.flycapeair.com), Vieques Air Link (www.viequesairlink.com) or MN Aviation (www.mnaviation.com). Puerto Rico Port Authority (800-981-2005) runs ferries from Fajardo in Puerto Rico to Isabel Segunda on Vieques Island. The ride on a passenger ferry is about one hour and 15 minutes, while the car ferry can take up to two hours.
The tourist office in Vieques is located across from the Plaza Isabel Segunda in the Casa Alcaldia, or town hall. They are open to assist visitors Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. If you’re planning on shopping during the afternoon, keep in mind that many business owners close for a lunchtime siesta during the middle of the day.

Galapagos Islands (the journey of your lifetime)
A trip to the Galapagos Islands will be the journey of your lifetime. Located 1,000 km from the Ecuadorian mainland, the archipelago consist of 13 major islands, of which 5 are inhabited. This geographical isolation enabled Galapagos Island creatures to slowly change into new versions of themselves, ones that are found nowhere else on earth. Famous examples include the marine iguana and giant tortoise. The islands were the catalyst for the evolution theory developed by Charles Darwin in the early 1800s. The archipelago has been known by many different names, including the “Enchanted Islands” because of the way in which the strong and swift currents made navigation difficult. The first crude navigation chart of the islands was done by the buccaneer Ambrose Cowley in 1684, and in those charts he named the islands after some of his fellow pirates or after the English noblemen who helped the pirates’ cause. The term “Galápagos” refers to the Spanish name given to the Giant Land Tortoises known to inhabit the islands.

The Island’s interesting volcanic geology, as well as its rich flora and fauna have been admired and studied by numerous travelers, scientist, and nature-lovers. Scientist are still faced with a mystery how such a large diversity of species could develop in a remote location like the Galapagos Islands. On the Islands, a multitude of animals, by most people only known from the Discovery Channel, are romping about: the main reason for tourists and nature lovers to pay the Galapagos Islands a visit.
Everyone who has visited the islands has his own personal list. This is survey about Galapagos Islands travelers for their opinions on which wildlife creatures thrilled them the most. The consensus results:

Corcovado National Park (an excellent life laboratory)
The park is located in the pacific coast, in the Peninsula de Osa, in the province of Puntarenas. Corcovado is located in the life zone that correspond to the very humid Tropical forest in the south pacific of Costa Rica and you can be sure that no other wild area in the country protects plants and animal as this park. This wild area is considered an excellent life laboratory, in which you can study the structure and function of the tropical ecosystems and the relationship between them.
The very humid forests of Corcovado, are some of the last places that still maintain the ecosystem of the very humid tropical forests in the American pacific, with precipitation over 5.000mm annual. This park helps the investigation and scientific studies and allows the environment education. There are like 500 species of trees in the whole park, which is equivalent to the fourth part of all the tree species in Costa Rica. The tropical rain forests protected in the area, no only constitute the best ecosystem in the pacific, but the last of them in Central America. The flora of the park is constituted in the most by the very humid tropical forest with the following habitats: The mountain forest, the cloudy forest, the prairie forest, the swamp forest, the “Yolillal”, the herbaceous swamp, the mangle, the sheer flora and the coast flora.
The park protects several endangered species like cats, big reptiles, species of birds of restricted distribution. There are habitating more than 104 mammal species, 367 birds, 117 amphibian and reptiles and 40 species of fresh water fish. In the wild life you can notice the danta, the jaguar, the puma, the white face monkey, squirrel, congos, and others. This park is one of the most important conservation areas for the protection of lizards and crocodiles.
Brave the mud of Corcovado National Park and maybe you’ll spot an endangered scarlet macaw. Seasoned hikers will want to tackle Chirripo Mountain, but there are easier, equally dramatic hikes to waterfalls and swimming holes in the Golfo Dulce, Osa Peninsula, and around Dominical.
Some prepositions for you there:
* Hit the Beach: The surfing is good at remote Playa Pavones, a stunning combination of black sand, tropical forest, and glistening waters.
* Filling Up: Looking for fresh fish? At Las Cataratas, the menu depends on the adjacent pond’s stock.
* Sleeping In: Laze away the day in a hammock on the porch of your cabana at Pacific Edge, a collection of rustic cabins high on a mountain ridge. Luxury ecotourism is not an oxymoron at Lapa RÃos, one of the world’s cushiest eco-resorts.
* When to Go: If you’re heading to the Osa Peninsula, avoid the rainy months of October and November — roads flood and lodges might close.

Fishing at Sofia Lake (one of most the important archeological sites)
Sofia Lake is one of the most important archeological sites in the far south of Chile. The first inhabitants of Patagonia lived there together with now-extinct mega fauna such as the prehistoric horse (caballo enano), the milodón (giant sloth), saber tooth tiger, and more. This area is also attractive for its beautiful geography, its mix of lagoons and lakes such as Sofía, and isolated peaks that are home to condor and eagle nesting sites, and extensive native beech forests that are full of flowers. This region also have marked trails, the reason why excursions there are led by a knowledgeable gaucho and guide.
The lake is also known for its excellent fishing. Most likely you’ll catch salmon and trout between one and three kilo, but with a bit of luck you’ll get your “fifteen-pound-story” to brag about. If you tend to go on a trip there, camp at the ranch “Laguna Sofia”. This ranch was established by Croatian and Scottish settlers who came here as the first pioneers. Unlike this settlers the camp have all the commodities necessary for a confortable living.
After the installing on the campsite, you can grab a cup of coffee and a snack, and your guide will give you fishing instructions according to skill level and needs. Then enjoy a couple of hour fishing before your guide serves you a warm lunch. In the afternoon go by foot or by horse to the other shore. Even with the usual wind that comes down from the snowy peaks and the southern ice cap, you will find cover behind the dramatic cliffs on the lakes southern shore. Fortunately the deep shore under these rock formations forms a excellent hunting ground for the really big fish.
As the night fall head back to the campground where your guide will prepare you a delicious dinner based upon the catch of the day. The Norwegian Lavuu, a tipi style spacious tent, allows to have a barbeque inside and you will be invited to dine as Djhengis Kahn and Sitting Bull and numerous other noble savages. The atmosphere and the dishes in this timeless restaurant will be the standard by which you judge every restaurant in the future.

The womb of Mankind – lake Titikaka in Bolivia(one really amazing place to see)
The Incas called Cuzco “the navel of the world” and the lake Titikaka “The womb of Mankind” , lakeside dwellers of today regard themselves as the “oldest people in the world”.Lake Titikaka in Bolivia is one really amazing place to see. It covers approximately 9000 square km and like many things in Bolivia it takes another highest championship: it is the world’s highest navigable lake (12,500 feet) 3,820 meters, its depth was recently measured at 457 Mt. Lake Titikaka has long been known to be not only the largest but also the most sacred in the world. Many cultures and civilisations have risen near it.The Tiawanaku culture began its raise around the time of Christ and lasted over a millennium , extending far into Puno and Northern Chile. Tiawanaku ceremonial sites were constructed along the shores of Lake Titikaka, indicating that the lake was considered sacred at least 2,000 years ago. The Incas believed they originated from the lake Titikaka and that their bearded, white leader/deity Viracocha began his acts of creation on this island . Clearly lake Titikaka played a dominant role in Andean beliefs for over two millennia.
The best known of Titikaka island are Taquile and Uros, the floating islands made of bulrushes, on the Peruvian side of the lake and the islands of the Sun and of the Moon on the Bolivian side. Bulrushes (totora) grow in the low waters of the lake , they have always been of multiple use for the natives . The people from the Titikaka region weave this plant very well to make rafts which seem to be made of woven glob fibre; they cut swiftly through the waters of the great lake. Birds nests among the bulrushes , providing eggs for human consumption , the matted plants serve as a foundation to built bulrush houses on. The most important geographical features of Titikaka include the Copacabana peninsula which contains remains of cultures dating back to long before the Spanish influence in South America .
Bolivia as country is a premier adventure travel destination. It is the fifth-largest country in South America and one of the most geographically diverse countries in the world. The Altiplano, a high mountain plateau where Andean civilization first developed, lies between two ranges of the Andes mountains that tower over 23,000 feet. Visitors come to this region to experience the amazingly beautiful waters, landscapes, and cultures of Lake Titikaka. Bolivia’s terrain ranges from spectacular Andean peaks to dense Amazonian rain forests, such as the jungles of Madidi National Park, Noel Kempf Mercado National Park on the border with Brazil.
In Bolivia, with the largest indigenous population in the Americas, Andean culture is alive and strong. Visitors experience Bolivia’s great indigenous heritage and enjoy traditional native architecture, clothing, colorful markets, handcrafts, dances, music, and seeing the daily life of Aymara communities. In La Paz, campesina women in bowler hats and flared skirts sell their products in huge open air markets. In some regions, you are more likely to hear the indigenous Aymara language than Spanish. Being in Bolivia is like stepping back in time by many years.
That’s how Lake Titikaka looks from space. Here is Google Earth Placemark for Lake Ttitikaka in Bolivia.
